Positive Thinking:
Change your life through positive thinking.
“What we think we become.” ~ Buddha
Our thoughts send signals to our brain which will affect our bodies. Our thoughts can increase our heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, and change our body temperature. Lie detectors work by measuring these changes.
When we tell a lie, the results can be measured in our bodies. The thoughts we think will create measurable changes in our bodies.
Negative thoughts will cause anger, sadness, or depression within us. Positive thoughts will cause us to experience an emotional state of happiness, love, compassion, and excitement. Our thoughts won’t only change our emotions, they will change our physiology.
Our facial expressions and our body language will show this change in our physiology. People will determine our mental state based on our body's reaction to our thoughts.
An angry person will pound their fists and have a look of scorn on their face. Someone who is sad or depressed will cry or walk slouched over with their head hanging down.
The happy or excited person will have a big smile on their face, they will be glowing, whistling a pleasant tune, or singing a song as they walk with a spring in their step. This contagious cheerful response all started with a positive thought.
Which person do you want to be around?
The power of positive thinking is a concept that states we can change our reality through our positive thoughts, or by using a positive vernacular in our verbal communications in our everyday interactions.
It is our self-talk that first determines our reality. The words we habitually speak to and about ourselves will set in motion through our thoughts and ideologies, our concepts of self-worth, and our self-talk will also influence the opinions of others.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” ~Thomas Edison
Your self-talk must be positive and uplifting. Never criticize yourself for your mistakes. Your mistakes are not failures but lessons in learning what doesn’t work.
We create our reality through our thoughts. What we focus our attention on determines the quality of our lives. Our negative thoughts will bring about negative circumstances in our life, our positive thoughts will bring about positive circumstances. It is a universal truth.
Many people see the negative side of circumstances in their life that do not turn out as they have planned, but if we see the good in everything, our entire outlook will change.
“If we change the way we look at things, the things we look at will change.” ~ Wayne Dyer
Positive affirmations:
The word affirmation comes from the Latin word affirmare, meaning to make steady, or strengthen.
Using positive affirmations every morning when we wake up will set the tone for the rest of our day. Positive affirmations will focus our thoughts, strengthen our resolve, and remove negative mindsets that will prevent us from reaching our goals.
Some positive affirmations for you to use.
I am now choosing empowering thoughts.
I choose to see the good in my life.
I am grateful for all I have now.
I forgive myself and others for past mistakes.
Good things are happening to me all the time.
I am the powerful creator of all good things in my life.
Try repeating these affirmations to yourself several times a day, or try some of your own that you resonate with. Anytime you find yourself thinking a negative thought, reset your mental pattern with a positive thought instead.
Soon both your internal and external dialog will be rewired for positive thoughts. Try it and see what a difference it makes in your life.
Writing down positive thoughts:
Do you take the time to write down your positive thoughts and your goals? When we write things down that are important to us, they become more ingrained into our minds. What we take the time to write down becomes more real and tangible to us than what we merely think about.
That is why we are taught to write down our goals. Goals that are not written down are just wishes, or dreams. When we write down our goals, it is the first step to making our goals manifest into reality. It will also keep us focused on our aim.
Put your written goals and positive thoughts some place you can see them every day. This will help you focus on taking action every day to move closer to your destiny.
All you have to do is think positively, and focus on your goals, and success will be yours.
Thank you for taking the time to read my article on positive thinking. I hope you find it as life-changing as I do.
